Compact short-pulse seed laser diode driver for powering 10/14-pin butterfly laser diode modules for applications that require clean nanosecond pulses with suppression of so-called “gain switch peak” at the leading edge of the pulse. The PLD-NS-GSS is specifically designed to give the user a possibility to suppress gain switching by controlling the bias current applied along with the pulsed current.

Compact short-pulse seed laser diode driver for powering 10/14-pin butterfly laser diode modules for applications that require nonsymmetric nanosecond pulse with long rise time as well as gain switch suppression. The adjustment of the pulse rise time allows to pre-shape the pulse and compensate pulse distortion in solid state or fiber amplifiers typical for amplification of long rectangular pulses.
The PLD-NS-GSS-Tr provides control of the bias current and the rise time of the pulse leading edge, which allows both suppressing the gain switch and pulse pre-shaping for further amplification.
